Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Thursday ordered the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to respond to the processes filed in the suit challenging the defection of his predecessor, Yakubu Dogara.
Justice Abang gave Gbajabiamila up till March 9 to obey the order and serve the other parties with the processes to enable the court to determine the issues before it.
Dogara defected from the PDP to the ruling APC on had on July 24, 2020, but the ruling party has denied that Dogara is its member
A chieftain of the PDP, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, has sought the court order to compel the leadership of the House to declare Dogara’s seat vacant.
Others joined in the suit as defendants are Attorney General of the Federation, INEC and APC.
