A businessman, Alhaji Rabi’u Amarawa, abducted by bandits on Monday in Sokoto State has been killed after payment of ransom by his family.
21st Century Chronicle, reliably gathered on Tuesday that the bandits requested N5 million ransom before they could release Amarawa, which was paid by the family.
“They requested for N5 million before his release and it was given today. We don’t know their motive of killing him,” a relative of the deceased said.
21st Century Chronicle recalled that 12 people were killed attempting to rescue the businessman who was kidnapped at his residence at Illela Amarawa in Sokoto state around 2am on Monday.
