In the midst of talks between the two clubs, Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay has notified Atletico Madrid that he is open to joining them.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Memphis is interested in joining Atletico this month and the club would love to have him. However, Los Rojiblancos are not pleased with Barcelona’s demand for a transfer fee or swap trade for Yannick Carrasco because his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Carrasco is apparently eager to do so as he looks for a fresh challenge and might facilitate a deal by pressing for a transfer to Camp Nou.
His agent revealed to DH les Sports+ on Tuesday: “Yannick will be swapped out for Depay. Negotiations are still going on, but nothing is finalized just yet, and I’m not sure if it will work. Yannick is a skilled player and enjoys the concept.”
Memphis has only played four times this season for Barcelona throughout all competitions. Injuries have been a factor, but he is also lower on Xavi’s priority list now that Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have joined the team.
