A philanthropist in Delta State, Chief Jude Ndudi Ozah, has donated 10 Hilux patrol vehicles to the state police command.
A statement by the spokesperson to the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Prince Greg Okwumbu, said Chief Ozah, while presenting the vehicles at the police headquarters, said the gesture was to appreciate the efforts of the police in combating crime in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ali, thanked Chief Ozah, who is also the Isagba of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, for his timely and wonderful contribution to policing in the state.
He said Chief Ozah may not be the richest man in the state, “but his call to duty and responsiveness to the needs of the police is simply wonderful.”
Ali said the vehicles would be used to effectively combat crime in the state and ensure that the police can extend its reach.
The Obi of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, Ifechukwude Aninshi Okonjo II, thanked the Police in Delta for the increased visibility, which he said was evidenced in the reduction of crime in the state.
The Obi also thanked Chief Ozah for his donation to the police, adding that Ozah was a “pillar in his kingdom.”
He said Chief Ozah had executed projects that are touching the lives of indigenes of the state, adding that Chief Ozah had dug boreholes, equipped the community vigilante groups, shared palliatives to widows and underprivileged in the community.
