Five days to the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure, the ministers of Defence and Sports, Bashir Magashi and Sunday Dare respectively, will on Wednesday hand over affairs to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.
Already, Magashi, a retired major-general of the Nigerian Army, has asked the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ibrahim Kana, to take charge.
Kana said a valedictory dinner would hold in honour of Magashi today Wednesday.
Dare is billed to hand over to the permanent secretary, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, on Wednesday after the valedictory FEC meeting.
Similarly, farewell parties had been held for two other ministers – Adamu Adamu of the Education Ministry and his counterpart at Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu.
A farewell is holding for Adamu Adamu on Thursday, the day he is expected to hand over as he is reportedly packing his personal belongings.
The staff of the Ministry of Water Resources and those of parastatals under Suleiman Adamu bade him farewell as the minister has been reported not to be seen in the office since last week.
