Sani Dangote, younger brother to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, was buried in Kano, Kano state capital.
He was buried at a cemetery located at No.92 Sarari quarters in Kano, Wednesday morning
Sani, who was the Vice President of Dangote Group, died on Sunday in the United States, due to colon cancer complications.
His remains were flown back to the ancient city of Kano for burial late Tuesday. The funeral prayers were held at Kofar Kudu, Emir of Kano’s palace.
The funeral prayers was led by the Chief Imam of Kano, Sani Muhammad.
The burial session was led by Sheikh Tijjani Bala Kalarawi.
Before his death, Sani had investments in manufacturing, agriculture, banking, and oil services.
He also sat on the Board of several other companies, including Nigerian Textile Mills Plc, Nutra Sweet Limited, Gum Arabic Limited, Dangote Textile Mills Limited, Alsan Insurance Brokers, Dan-Hydro Company Limited, Dansa Food Processing Company Limited, and Dangote Farms Limited.
Notable people that attended the burial include Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika who represented the Federal Executive Council, former Governor of Borno State Kashim Shettima, former Governor of Bauchi State, Adamu Mu’azu, Borno state Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, THISDAY Publisher, Nduka Obaigbena; Chairman, BUA Group, Abdussamad Isiyaka Rabiu.
Other are Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi; Senate President Ahmad Lawan; former Senate President Bukola Saraki; Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, among others.
