The Managing Director of Kano State Consumer Protection Council, General Idris Bello Dambazau (rtd), has escaped from the custody of the state anti-graft agency.
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) acting chairman, Màhmoud Balarabe, disclosed this Wednesday, saying Dambazau was being interrogated at the commission’s headquarters when he said he needed to go and take his medication.
Balarabe said Dambazzau escaped from the hands of operatives of the commission detailed to follow him to his home.
He accused Dambazau of shunning several invitations extended to him by the commission but only turned up on Tuesday after the commission threatened him with an arrest.
He said Dambazau has a couple of petitions against him bothering on his alleged corruption which he was invited to r, come and espond to.
In 2021, the embattled KCPC boss was nabbed by the state command of Department of State Services (DSS) alleged economic sabotage but he was subsequently released without being prosecuted.
