The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has disclosed that it currently maintains structured collaboration frameworks with more than 20 customs administrations globally.
Comptroller-general, Adewale Adeniyi, during a diplomatic meeting hosted by the NCS in Abuja, which brought together ambassadors, high commissioners, heads of missions and senior government officials, including representatives of key security agencies.
According to a statement by the NCS on Friday, he called for stronger collaboration between customs administrations, diplomatic missions and security agencies to improve trade facilitation, border security and revenue generation.
Adeniyi noted that such partnerships have become increasingly important as customs operations evolve within a highly interconnected global trading environment.
The comptroller-general added that continuous engagement among customs authorities, diplomatic missions and security institutions is necessary to strengthen border management, facilitate legitimate trade and enhance Nigeria’s economic competitiveness.
According to him, international partnerships remain critical to addressing emerging challenges in global trade and border management, adding that the NCS has continued to expand cooperation with customs administrations across the world through knowledge-sharing arrangements, capacity-building initiatives and operational partnerships.
Adeniyi added that platforms such as the diplomatic reception provide opportunities to deepen dialogue, build trust and explore new areas of cooperation.
