An All Progressives Congress chieftain, Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Kwamanda, has described the current allegations against the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON),
Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, as politically motivated.
Speaking to newsmen in Kano, Dan Bilki stated it is very important for the critics to understand that the activities of NAHCON is purely guided by the dictates of Islamic religion and not by political dictates or affiliation. He explained that it is unfortunate that some politicians are using some mediums to politicize the activities of NAHCON which he described as very unfortunate.
“NAHCON is not a political arena and critics should understand that, the president of Nigeria and the vice president have appointed Sheikh Saleh Pakistan as the head of NAHCON not on the basis of his political affiliation but based on his Islamic religion knowledge. Therefore, it is very wrong for people to use political dictates in judging the leadership of the commission without clear evidence of what the work of NAHCON entails,” he said.
He added that as a politician, he believed it is wrong to associate the Commission’s activities with politics, adding that people should be very careful with rumors being peddled by some sponsored mediums to launch a campaign of calumny against the leadership of the commission.
“We have to learn to respect our religion and we should always desist from doing what will sored the reputation of our faith. It is unfortunate that some people are all out to see that the leadership of NAHCON has failed even before the commencement of the Hajj operation which I am sure will all fail,” he said.
