Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 655 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections in the country to 153,842.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on its official website. It said the cases were reported from 21 states.
Since last week Friday the country has been experiencing a downward trend of the virus from a daily average of 1,000 cases to less than 600 cases.
The country recorded 571 on Tuesday, 542 on Monday and the 521 on Sunday which is the lowest daily toll this year.
The NCDC said it recorded 11 deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total fatality from the disease to 1,885.
