A surety, Sani Ukasha, 31, is to spend three months in imprisonment for failing to produce an accused person he stood for.
A Jos Area Court Judge, Shawomi Bokkos, handed down the sentence to Ukasha on Thursday.
Ukasha had pleaded guilty to the charge and pleaded for leniency.
Bokkos, however, gave the surety an option of an N10,000 fine.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, said the surety failed to produce an accused person in a case of seasoning cubes theft.
Gokwat said Ukasha failed to produce the accused when needed in court, in contravention of Plateau State Penal Code, Law.
