The embattled former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail by the Federal Capital Territory High Court on Wednesday.
The court ordered that he should be released to his counsel and must be produced in court when needed.
Justice O. A. Adeniyi, who gave the ruling, also ordered him to deposit all his travel documents with the court’s registrar.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought Emefiele to the Federal High Court, Abuja in compliance with the order given on Thursday last week.
The commission had failed to produce the former CBN governor for arraignment last week.
Last week, the commission, citing the absence of a relevant paper, had failed to comply with the order of the FHC directing it to produce Emefiele in court on Monday or release him unconditionally.
Following the disobedience by the commission, the court restated its order and adjourned proceedings till Wednesday.
