Senate President Ahmed Lawan has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would come out with a tentative list of its candidates for various positions on Friday.
The party’s national convention is slated for Saturday.
On Wednesday President Muhammadu Buhari directed governors elected on the platform of the party to draw up a list of the candidates for all positions ahead of the convention.
“I have already given my own input and other recommendations on the way forward in both my February 25, 2022 meeting with the Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee and my March 13, 2022 letter to the chairman of the APC Governors Forum,” he had said.
Speaking after the National Assembly caucus leaders met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Thursday in Abuja, Lawan assured that the “Unity List” would be out as the president directed.
“We hope to achieve a consensus in selecting and electing the officers for the party, we are prepared to come up with a unity list,” he said.
