The All Progressives Congress (APC) national appeal panel committee on the October 16t state Congress has begun sitting in Kano.
In a press conference at the Maiduguri road party headquarters, leader of the panel, Dr. Tony Macfoy said the committee was deployed to receive complaints, petitions and appeals from aggrieved members rising from the state congress.
He said the panel was however quick to clarify that only matters and concerns emanating from the congress held at Sani Abacha Indoor Sport Hall would be entertained.
“We are here on behalf of the National chairman APC caretaker and extra ordinary convention committee Governor Mai Mala Buni to hear appeals, petitions, complaints regarding last state Congress election held 16th October.
”The panel was inaugurated in Abuja on 21st and we arrived Kano yesterday. We shall be here for three days while we receive the appeals. Let me say we would be guided by the APC constitution and guidelines and only those who partake in the election would be recognized.
” We would be opened between 10am to 4pm for reception of the petitions and Complaints there after we would compile our reports and file the out to the National headquarters. We hope members will conduct themselves in the usual brotherly manner.”
The congress in Kano was riddled in confusion, drama and crisis, a development that led to parallel congress where factional leadership led by Ahmadu Haruna Danzago emerged.
