Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has been invited for questioning in connection with his comments on the activities of bandits in the country.
The Minister of Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this on Monday in Abuja.
Mr Idris said Sheikh Gumi is not above the law, adding that the government has found it necessary to invite him for questioning.
The cleric had countered the FG last week when a controversial list of individuals and entities suspected of financing terrorsm was made public.
Mr Gumi, in countering the FG, said nobody finances terrorism, adding that the terrorists themselves deploy ransom money they extort from kidnapped victims to finance their criminal activities.
