Ten people have died and 50 hospitalised following outbreak of cholera in Koya Koya village, Minjibir local government area of Kano State.
The Information Officer of the area, Tasiu Yahaya Dadinduniya who confirmed the development on Sunday said the outbreak was began on Friday.
He said the first victims was a family man who came down with diarrhea and vomiting, after breaking his fast.
Dadinduniya said the victim died within 15 minute after experiencing the severe conditions.
“So far, about 10 persons have lost their lives. Over 50 others were hospitalized at the Minjibir hospital,” he said.
The Village Head, Alhaji Ahmad Maikwai Koya said they are yet to ascertain the main cause of the outbreak.
He said health officials have visited the area.
