The Kano State Director for Public Prosecution, Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe, has been appointed as acting Executive Chairman of the state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, Abba Anwar, announced the appointment on Thursday.

He said the appointment was with immediate effect.

The Kano State House Assembly has earlier suspended the anti-graft chairman Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado for 30 days over some administrative issues.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje directed the acting chairman to discharge his duties diligently, according to the laid down procedures establishing the commission.

Mahmoud worked as director anti-corruption of the commission before he was later promoted to the ministry of justice as DPP.
