Mason Mount put the Blues ahead with a fine run and finish after Timo Werner effort was disallowed for offside on a tight call.
Mount does brilliantly on the counter, running across the Liverpool defence before bending a strike into the bottom-right corner to give Chelsea the lead at 42 minutes into the game.
The Blues have been composed at the back and have shown a clinical edge in the final third. Their coach Thomas Tuchel will be thrilled with their performance tonight which sees them into fourth position in the table.
