It was Godfrey’s own goal that broke the deadlock in the first half when Havertz’s shot hit the defender and crossed the line.
Chelsea stepped it up after the break and won a penalty when Pickford brought down Havertz which Jorginho converted.
The hosts could’ve had more if not for Pickford, Everton’s keeper who made good saves to deny Werner, Alonso and Mount of Chelsea.
Alonso squares it into the six-yard box where Havertz flicks it on. Everton’s Godfrey try to make a block, but it hits him and past Pickford into the back of the net to give Chelsea the lead at half time.
Jorginho steps up to take the penalty and sends Pickford the wrong way as he place it into the bottom-left corner to double Chelsea lead in second half.
