Kano state is blessed with people that excelled in all aspects of live , people who dedicated their lives to make the world a better place to live. Hon. (Dr) Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso is among the Kanawa that excelled in the carrier that they chosen for themselves to make Kano, North and Nigeria a better place for all to live.

The history of our democracy will not be complete without narrating the contributions of Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso. He’s among those that make Kano politics to be unique and makes it to be working for people to enjoy dividends of democracy. He spends years providing political advice, analysis and almost accurate political predictions.

Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, a grassroot politician, who happens to be among the symbols of democracy and good governance in Kano and beyond serves his state through various stages, he worked with the Kano State Water Resources Board and rose to the rank of Deputy Director. He was Chairman of Madobi Local Government Area of Kano state. Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso remains the longest serving Commissioner in Kano state.

He serves as Commissioner three times during the administrations of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as Commissioner for Special Duties, Commissioner for Rural and Community Development.

He left landmark achievements during tenures of offices he held as he genuinely cares about his people, consistently strives for welfare of his people and prioritize needs of his people over his own.

What makes Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso unique among Kano politicians is his philanthropic and humanitarian nature. He gives without been asked and attends occasions to celebrate, to sympathize, to condole etc of friends, supporters and well wishers. He works for well being of his people by bringing development to their doorstep.

And he’s also a different politician as he believes in politics without bitterness, hate and violence. As a grassroot politician he always identify loyal party members and supporters and reward them personally.

Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso is also known as fearless in cause of demanding good governance and dividends of democracy for people of Kano state.

A stauch supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he’s among the few Northerners that come openly to tell the truth about many developments Tinubu brings to Kano and the North.

The former Sarki Yakin Karaye was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Executive Director Finance and Administration, Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Kano (Kano, Jigawa and Bauchi). With his wealth of experience in administration and governance Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso helps Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Bichi the Managing Director Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Kano to achieve a lot in few months after their appointments. Thanks be to Allah, there was no case of flood in Kano, Jigawa and Bauchi States. And HJRBDA was the Federal Government Agency that generated the highest revenue to Federal Inland Revenue in less than eight months of 2025.

Hon. (Dr) Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso legacies are many and which will continue to be celebrated by advocates of democracy and good governance.

We pray that May Allah (SWT) protects him from all evils, grant him long life with good health and increase his riches to enable him continue helping people. May his political profile continue to raise by appointing him to higher political office.
