The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has called on the Federal Government not to consider another round of lockdown despite a spike in COVID-19 cases.
CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele made the call at the end of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on Tuesday.
The MPC at the meeting unanimously voted to retain the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 11.5 percent.
The CBN governor said the bank will work with the fiscal authorities to revamp the economy by collaborating on policy implementation.
He said the CBN has secured approval from President Muhammadu Buhari to restructure the Nigeria Commodity Exchange.
