The suspended Catholic priest, Hyacinth Alia has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gobernorship candidate in Benue State ahead of the 2023 election.
He beat Barnabas Gemade, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Mike Aondoakaa, a former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) to clinch the ticket.
The APC in Benue had adopted direct primary to pick its governorship candidate.
The priest polled over 7,000 votes to emerge winner of the poll.
