President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Managing Director of the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) Aliyu Abdulhameed for alleged N5.6 billion fraud.
Insiders are saying that Mr Abdulhameed was booted out majorly because of 2018 N5.6billion wheat project meant for farmers in Kano and Jigawa states.
The MD’s sack was approved by the Board of the CBN following approval from the Presidency, it was learned.
The NIRSAL boss was sacked on Thursday and he left the headquarters of the bank after he briefed the staff of the company, another source said.
There is no official statement over the issue yet.
