President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) flags to the Zamfara and Cross Rivers states governors, Bello Mohammed Matawalle and Ben Ayade.
The two governors were presented with the flags, the symbol of the party’s leadership at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Matawalle and Ayade defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC at different times in their respective states recently.
They were led to the presidential villa by the APC caretaker chairman and Yobe state governor, Mai-Mala Buni.
A statement by Matawalle’s media aide Yusuf Idris Gusau said the president commended the two governors for taking the steps by joining hands with the progressives moving the country forward.
The president assured the two leaders of the commitment of the APC-led administration in addressing all challenges facing the country.
The president commended the Buni-led committee for its achievements in uniting the party and wooing high profile personalities to its fold.
