President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with families of former Chief of Naval Staff, retired Rear Admiral Ishaya Ibrahim, and that of former Head of the Directorate of Military Intelligence, retired Brig.Gen. Ibrahim Sabo.
The president’s condolence message is contained in a joint statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The President joined friends and associates, particularly in the military hierarchy, in mourning the passing of the two military officers.
Late chief of naval staff served as Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command and Naval Western Command before reaching the peak of his career.
Buhari said the naval officer’s meritorious service to the nation continues to inspire many officers, leaving a sustained legacy of loyalty, patriotism and gallantry.
Buhari also commiserated with the family and associates of former retired Brig-Gen Ibrahim Sabo, whose contributions to the security structure and operations will always be remembered, particularly playing a significant role in counselling leaders after his retirement.
The President prayed that the Almighty God would receive the souls of the departed former military officers, and comfort their families.
