President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Prince Mohammed bin Salman on his appointment as Saudi Arabia’s new prime minister.
The president revealed this in a letter he personally signed, according to a statement on Wednesday by his spokesperson Garba Shehu.
The crown prince, popularly known as MbS, will double as the kingdom’s defence minister.
President Buhari said the government and the people of Nigeria looked forward to working with MbS to further deepen and expand excellent bilateral relations.
Buhari expressed “confidence that with the dynamic and visionary leadership of the government by the Prime Minister under the guidance of his father, ruler of the Kingdom and Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the comprehensive strategic partnership of our two states will continue to blossom.
He also prayed to Allah to increase the health and wisdom of King Salman.
