President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday canceled his planned visit to Zamfara State
Governor Bello Matawalle who announced this said poor weather conditions that affected his flight to the Northwest state led to the cancellation of the president’s visit.
He said a new date for the president’s visit to the state would be announced later.
Buhari was scheduled to visit the state to sympathise with the government and the people of the state over the killings of innocent lives by terrorists.
The President who was supposed to fly in from Sokoto to commission some projects in Zamfara State went back to Abuja.
Adequate security measures had been taken by the Zamfara State Government to ensure a hitch-free visit where some roads and the motor parks were shut down for some hours.
