President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, for a two-day working visit amidst tight security in the state.
Buhari first touched down at 10:30 am at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu and was received by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and his Ebonyi counterpart, David Umahi.
From there they moved to Ebonyi state to begin the official visit.
Security has been beefed up with stern looking operatives including military and the police being deployed in locations.
The streets in the capital city wore new looks with different security personnel seen at strategic locations.
A resident Mar Eugene Nwangele, described the visit as relevant, especially when stakeholders in the Southeast zone are expected to present issues that bothers the zone and country at large to Buhari.
Nwangele said the visit would also give the people of the state in particular and south east in general a sense of recognition and belonging.
