The Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Sokoto has dismissed the PDP petition challenging the victory of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of the APC.
The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Haruna Mshelia, in a unanimous decision dismissed the petition citing lack of evidence.
The petition was filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sa’idu Umar, after the last election against the governor, his deputy, APC and INEC.
In the petition, Mr Umar alleged election fraud, falsification of educational result, non-compliance with the electoral act, among others.
