The kidnappers of the Abuja train passengers have released a woman, her husband, four children and an elderly woman.
The lady, identified as Maryam Bobbo, was abducted alongside her husband and four children when the terrorists attacked the Abuja – Kaduna train over four months ago.
Handout photos and videos released by the terrorists have revealed the mother and her children in captivity.
It was not clear whether ransom was paid to secure the release of the woman and her children.
It was learned that the father of the four children, Abubakar, is a staff of the National Assembly Commission and son of a former Military Administrator of Kano and Benue States, Major General Chris Garba.
The kidnappers also released a 60-year-old woman, identified as Hajia Aisha Hassan, who was released due deteriorating health.
The names of the six family members that were released are Abubakar Idris Garba, his wife Maryama Abubakar Bobbo and their eldest son, Ibrahim Abubakar Garba who is 10 years old.
Others are Fatima Abubakar Garba, years, Imran Abubakar Garba, 5 years, and and the youngest of them Zainab Abubakar Garba, who is only one and half years.
On March 28, the terrorists launched an attack on the train in Kaduna, killing nine persons, injuring 28 others and kidnapping 63 passengers. Two passengers were later freed.
Kaduna-based publisher, Mr Tukur Mamu, had facilitated the release of 11 passengers on June 11.
On July 11, families of another six hostages reportedly paid N100 million each ransom to secure the release of their loved ones.
On July 5, Boko Haram fighters believed to be Kaduna train attackers, stormed Kuje Prison in Abuja, freeing 879 inmates, including 69 terrorists.
On July 24, the kidnappers threatened to abduct President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai in a new video as they mercilessly flogged the hostages.
The terrorists freed additional three passengers comprising a female and two males on July 25.
On August 2, the kidnappers had released five additional hostages.
