Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a military checkpoint at Zuma Rock, near Abuja, killing unspecified number of soldiers.
The attack was done around 7pm on Thursday, according to security sources.
Zuma Rock, located along the Abuja -Kaduna expressway, is a border between Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This attack is coming days after the terrorists killed at least two military officers and six soldiers in Bwari, Abuja.
The terrorists reportedly stormed the checkpoint with heavy fire power, gunning down the soldiers on duty. They stayed there for about 30 minutes.
Sources said the soldiers mobilized from the nearby Zuma Barrack and went to the scene of the attack about 20 minutes after the terrorists had left.
Earlier on Thursday, the Defense Headquarters Abuja said they have killed 30 terrorists who attacked and killed soldiers in Bwari.

Presidential Guards Brigade is an elite brigade of the Nigerian Army responsible for protecting the President of Nigeria and securing the capital city.
The slain officers were drawn from the 7 Guards Brigade based in Lungi Barracks, Maitama Abuja, it was learned.
