The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Abdulrasheed Bawa as the new chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
President Muhammadu Buhari last week sent his name to the Senate for confirmation just as the Senate president last week also said the red chamber will screen Bawa during a plenary.
Speaker and members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly accompanied the new chairman to the senate for the screening.
Mr Bawa, 40, will be the youngest person to ever lead the organisation which has been without a substantive head since November 2015.
He arrived at the National Assembly and was ushered in by the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Babajide Omoworare.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan said the senators will ask any question, just as he said that the screening will allow for a substantive Chairman for the anti-graft agency.
Lawan had said last week that Bawa would be screened at the red chamber plenary, in keeping with the tradition and for the thoroughness it requires.
