Gunmen have launched a daring night attack on Kachia town, headquarters of Kachia Local Government, in Kaduna state, killing unspecified number of people.
An eye witness who spoke to 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE from Kachia on telephone said dozen gunmen launched the attack around 9:30pm on Wednesday.
He said the attack lasted more than two hours throwing the entire town into pandemonium.
He said the assailants first attacked a bakery inside Kachia town where people converged after the night (isha’i) prayers.
“They just came to the bakery and started shooting anyone on sight. Immediately, two people were brutally murdered at the bakery. One is a driver and the other one a businessman,” the source who declined being named for security concern, said.
He said after the attack on the bakery, the bandits dispersed into the town, shooting anyone on sight.
He said it was not possible to ascertain the actual casualties as of this night as many of the wounded were taken to a private clinic inside the town for medical attention.
“Two people were brutally murdered at the bakery. And dozen others wounded and taken to Royal Clinic for medical attention. We can’t ascertain how many people were killed, wounded or even abducted because the entire town is in disarray,” the source said.
