Kidnappers of students of Green Field University, a private university, located along the Abuja-Kaduna highway in Kaduna State, have demanded N800 million ransom. The students were abducted on Wednesday morning in their school. A security officer was shot during the attack.
A family member of one of the kidnapped victims confirmed the development.
He said the kidnappers had threatened to kill the students if the ransom is not paid.
Although authorities are yet to confirm the number of students that were kidnapped, the family member claimed 23 student were abducted.
He said families of the abducted students had started consulting themselves on how to raise the money.
