The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa State is to resume the collation of the state’s rerun election.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani, are the contestants in the supplementary elections.
The INEC Returning Officer for the State, Prof Muhammed Mele, has reportedly returned to Yola, Adamawa State capital, to supervise the collation of the results halted by the commission on Sunday. He was sited at the Yola International Airport about an hour ago.
Prof Mele was part of the commission’s emergency meeting held in INEC headquarters Abuja summoned over the illegal declaration of Mrs Binani as the governor-elect by the Resident Electoral commission Barr. Hudu Yubusa-Ari.
