The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved 14 days paternity leave for civil servants.
The meeting was chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, disclosed while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.
She said paternity leave will allow fathers to properly bond with their newborn babies or adopted children.
Yemi-Esan said it is important for the newborn or adopted baby to properly bond with the father at the early stage.
