A former Kogi State lawmaker, Friday Sani Makama, and an Igala prince, Frederick Adejoh, have been kidnapped along with other people at Hilltop Hotel in Tunga Maje, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
FCT police spokesperson, Mariam Yusuf, confirmed the incident on Thursday.
A resident of the area told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that gunmen stormed the hotel early Thursday morning and shot sporadically into the air to scare the people away before they whisked away the duo and many other people in the hotel vicinity.
Makama, a former lawmaker in the Kogi State House of Assembly, recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while Prince Adejoh is the Oma Onu Aya of Igala land.
The police spokesperson said the command has launched “a strategic operation to rescue the victims unhurt.”
