The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari have arrived at Katsina Airport.
The body was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and some family members of the late president.
They landed on the airport runway at about 1:59 pm on Tuesday.
A red-carpet military parade, led by Air Force officials, followed by President Tinubu and Shettima walked alongside the procession to a vehicle conveying the body to Daura for final rites.
Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, members of the Katsina State Executive Council, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril, among other dignitaries, were on the ground to receive the former president’s body.
