A professor of intellectual history and history of ideas, Dahiru Yahya, is dead.
He was 74.
He was teacher at the Bayero University Kano.
The deceased was the first scholar in Bayero University to be honored with a Festschrift.
The professor hails from Dawakin Kudu. He obtained a BA in History from Abdullahi Bayero College (ABU) in 1970, and PhD in the University of Birmingham.

He had School Certificate Education at Birnin Kudi Secondary School, Kano in 1965.
He received Bachelor of Arts degree in History (Special Hons) at Abdullahi Bayero College, ABU in 1970.
He had his PhD at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
He started working as a Social Welfare Assistant under the Northern Region Government Kaduna; Administrative Officer, Kano State Government before joining university system from 1970.
