A man Modu Ali Kotoko has been sentenced to one year imprisonment over N20 million fraud.
Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court sitting in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, convicted and sentenced the man, according to a statement by EFCC on Tuesday.
Mr Kotoko was first arraigned on January 1, 2021 and pleaded not guilty to the one count charge preferred against him.
This set the stage for trial in which prosecution counsel, Mukhtar Ali Ahmed, presented one witness.
At the resumed hearing of the case on June 28, 2022, Kotoko changed his plea and pleaded ‘guilty’ to an amended charge.
He was subsequently convicted by the trial judge.
