The new Service Chiefs on Sunday in Maiduguri met with critical stakeholders to brainstorm and re-strategize on how to tackle the Boko haram insurgency in the state.
The service chiefs took the mantle of leadership from their predecessors after they were appointed by President Muhammad Buhari on Tuesday.
They are the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao.
The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Irabor led the delegation to arrive at the headquarters of the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri at about 1:30pm.
The battle between the Boko haram terrorist and the Nigerian military have entered eleven years. The visit of the new service chief is an avenue to brainstorm on how to re-strategise and device a new approach that will ensure lasting peace in Borno state, which is the epic centre of the insurgency.
