Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Tuesday received a report on the murder of a female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Samuel.
Ms Deborah was mob to death about three months ago in Sokoto over blashpemous comments on Prophet Muhammad.
The contents of the report were not made public during its symbolic presentation at the Government House.
However, the governor promised to implement all the recommendations therein as doing so would forestall future recurrence.
“I assure the people of the state that we will implement the recommendations of the committee.
“Because doing so will prevent future recurrence not only in affected colleges but in all tertiary institutions in the state,” he said.
Tambuwal also considered reopening the college.
“Having receiving the recommendation of the committee and heard from the several stakeholders and leaders in the state on the need for the college to reopen, i will look into the possibility of doing so,” he said
He directed the Governing Council of the college to convene a meeting with a view to reopening the school soonest.
In his address, the chairman of the 12-man investigation committee of SSCOE crisis, Engineer Abdullah I Bakale, said the committee has done a thorough investigation of the matter and wrote a comprehensive report.
