After revealing that she and her children travel in economy while her husband travels in first class, a woman has generated controversy. She outlined how her husband “loves to travel” and always purchases an upgraded seat for himself, but doesn’t extend the same courtesy to his family. The mother inquired if it was “wrong” for her to want to sit with her husband in first class, leaving her 12- and 16-year-old children to take care of themselves at the bottom of the plane, in The New York Times Magazine’s ethics column.
“My husband loves to travel and always pays for or receives an upgrade into the first-class cabin,” the woman stated. He purchases a first-class ticket for himself and places the rest of us in economy or economy plus when we travel with our kids.
