Bandits have shot an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in Kaduna.
The police chief has been identified as AIG Audu Madaki.
He is in charge of Zone 12 police headquarters in Bauchi.
The senior police officer was attacked by the terrorists on Tuesday around 2:3 pm, between Gwade and Jagindi area in Southern part of Kaduna State.
Preliminary reports indicate that AIG Madaki’s security detail was killed while the police chief was shot in the leg.
The spokesperson of the Zone 12 police command, Thomas Goni, said he is yet to receive details of the attack.
He said, “We are still waiting for the details of the incident,” he said.
“You know it did not happen within our jurisdiction here; it happened in Kaduna command so I have been on the line with Kaduna to get the details from them.
