Seven family members of the Emir of Kajuru that were abducted by bandits two months ago have been released.
The Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, alongside 13 family members, including two of his grandchildren were abducted on July 11 in a late-night attack on the emir’s palace in Kajuru town, Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.
Their abductors, a day after, released the emir but held the remaining people in captivity.
A resident of Kajuru town who craved anonymity told the 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that three male, three women and an infant were released on Wednesday.
He said the victims have been reunited with their family members even though he declined to comment on the ransom paid.
A traditional title holder, Dan Iyan Kajuru Saidu Musa, confirmed the release of the victims, but said seven more people are still in captivity.
