Bandits have attacked the residence of an officer attached to the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), ASP Aliyu Umar, at Kofar Kona area of Zaria Local Government Area in Kaduna State.
The assailants killed one person and wounded another during the attack that took place a few minutes after 9 pm on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Abubakar Aliyu, while an elderly person Abubakar was shot in the chest. He has been rushed to hospital for treatment.
Thereafter, the bandits riddled his home with bullets.
He said the bandits also rustled some unspecified number of cows from his Fulani neighbours just outside the Kofar Kona gate of Zaria city.
