Bandits have killed four vigilantes and two farmers in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack that took place around 9 am at Jangali area of old Birnin Gwari town on Tuesday.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the vigilantes were deployed by the locals to protect them from the bandits that always terrorise them while working in their farms.
A community leader, who simply identified himself as Muhammadu Birnin Gwari, confirmed the attack.
He said there are others that were missing because they are yet to return home after the bandits stormed the farmlands.
“Four vigilantes and two farmers were killed by the bandits while others are missing. We are still searching for them. We are under siege in this part of the state because bandits are terrorising us daily,” he said.
He said on Sunday and Monday, many farmers were abducted at the same area and are still with the bandits.
There is no official reaction from security agencies on the attack as the spokesperson of Kaduna Police Command, ASP Jalige Mohammed, couldn’t be reached for comment.
