Suspected bandits have once again launched an attack on a mosque in Sabon Layi Village in the Kakangi Constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area killing two worshippers.
The attackers also injured two additional worshippers during the operation around 5:30 am Tuesday.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the bandits stormed the mosque when people had gathered for a congregational prayer in the small village named Unguwar Ga Allah Babba which nestled between Tashar Keji and Sabon Layi village within Birnin Gwari LGA.
A local sources told our correspondent that the bandits emerged from the Kamuku Forest while dressed in security uniforms and were en route to the Niger State axis.
According to him, they open fire on the congratulation without warning which claimed the life of the mam leading the morning prayer and one other person.
Ishaq Kasai, the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), who confirmed the attack to newsmen said those injured were rushed to hospital for treatment .
He described the attack on the innocent worshippers as unfortunate.
