Gunmen have killed seven persons when they attacked Kojiyo community in Goronyo Local Government and Nagwamatse village in Wurno Local Government in Sokoto State between Friday and Saturday.
The spokesperson of the state Police command, ASP Ahmed Rufai, however, gave the casualty figure to be three while one person injured.
Rufai, however could not confirm the attack in Kojiwo ward, in Goronyo Local Government area where five people were reportedly killed and many kidnapped by gunmen.
An anonymous local said the incident happened on Saturday evening, alledging that apart from the killings of the five residents, many people were also kidnapped in the unfortunate attack.
“They attacked the village on Saturday evening where they killed five residents of the area instantly. They also abducted many people in the village,” he added.
