Bandits have killed eight people in fresh attacks in Dutsin Gari and Rayau villages of Maru local government area of Zamfara state.
Eye witnesses said the bandits who were on motorcycles invaded the Dutsin Gari village on Monday night with the intention of abducting some people, but faced resistance from the villagers who engaged them in a heavy fight for several hours.
The sources said when the bandits couldn’t succeed in their nefarious activity, they opened fire and killed six people, injured many before they moved to Rayau, a nearby village.
At Rayau, the sources said they faced the same resistance, but killed three people.
